Oatmeal Raisin Mason Jar Cookies

- 1/2 cup raisins
Assembly Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
- Layer the ingredients into a clean 1-quart mason jar in the following order: flour mixture, brown sugar, granulated sugar, oats, and raisins.
- Firmly pack down each layer before adding the next to ensure all ingredients fit snugly.
- Seal the jar tightly and attach a gift tag with baking instructions (below).

Oatmeal Raisin Spice Cookies
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Empty the jar of cookie mix into a large mixing bowl. Blend thoroughly with your hands.
- Add 3/4 cup softened butter or margarine and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
- Roll dough into walnut-sized balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 11-13 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Yields: Approximately 3 dozen cookies.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup oats regular oats (do not use quick oats)
- 1/2 cup raisins
Instructions
- Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 quart wide mouth canning jar. It will be a tight fit, make sure you firmly pack down each layer in place before adding the flour mixture.
- Attach instructions to attach to jar (see below).
- Oatmeal Raisin Spice Cookies
- Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl.
- Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix.
- Add 3/4 cup butter or margarine softened, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Mix until completely blended.
- Shape into balls the size of walnuts.
- Place on a parchment lined cookie sheets 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350F for 11 to 13 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
- Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet.
- Remove cookies to baking racks to finish cooling. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
