(If you don't have buttermilk then add 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice to a 1 cup measuring cup, then fill the rest of the way with either milk, coconut or soy milk. Stir until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little extra flour until it reaches the right consistency.
  • Roll out the dough:
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Lightly butter the dough then add cinnamon sugar:
  • In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup brown sugar with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  • Roll and slice:
  • Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Slice the roll into 8-10 even pieces.
