Golden Mushroom Soup From Cream Of Anything Soup Mix
This homemade Golden Mushroom Soup substitute starts with my Cream of Anything Soup Mix and gets its rich flavor from beef broth, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, and a splash of soy sauce. It's an easy replacement for canned golden mushroom soup in casseroles, gravies, stroganoff, and other comfort food favorites.
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup Cream of Anything Soup Mix
- 1¼ cups water or beef broth beef broth gives the best flavor
- ¼ cup milk optional, for creaminess
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce or tamari
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 –4 ounces finely chopped mushrooms sautéed until browned
- If you want it even closer to the canned golden mushroom flavor add:
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- A pinch of sugar
Instructions
- Use beef broth instead of chicken broth or water.
- Add Worcestershire and soy sauce for that savory depth.
- Brown the mushrooms first instead of just simmering them.
