DIY Tick Repellent

Keep ticks at bay naturally with this easy DIY Tick Repellent Spray made with cedarwood, eucalyptus, peppermint, and lavender essential oils. I use it on shoes, socks, pant legs, and gardening clothes before heading outdoors.

Instructions
 

  • Add the witch hazel to a 16-ounce spray bottle.
  • Add the essential oils and shake to combine.
  • Add the distilled water and glycerin.
  • Shake well before each use.

To Use

  • Spray on shoes, socks, pant legs, garden gloves, and outdoor clothing.
  • Reapply every 1–2 hours when outdoors.
  • Shake before each use since the oils will naturally separate.

Notes

This is the homemade spray I use around the yard and on my gardening clothes. It is not a substitute for medical advice or EPA-registered tick repellents, and I always do a tick check after spending time outdoors.

Avoid eyes, face, and broken skin.
Do not spray directly on pets.
