Tomato Gravy Mix
This Tomato Gravy Mix combines flour, tomato powder, and classic seasonings into a shelf-stable blend you can scoop and cook anytime. Just add butter, milk or water, and canned tomatoes for a rich, Southern-style gravy perfect over biscuits, grits, or potatoes.

To make from dry mix
- 1 cup water or milk
- 1/2 cup canned crushed tomatoes or diced canned tomatoes or 2 tbsp tomato paste + 1/2 cup water
Combine all dry ingredients and store in an airtight jar or container. Label with date and directions. Shake well before each use.
To Make 1 Batch (4 Servings): Measure out: 1/2 cup dry mix
In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter or bacon grease over medium heat.
Add 1/2 cup dry mix, whisking for 1–2 minutes.
Slowly stir in:
1 cup milk or water
1/2 cup crushed or diced canned tomatoes (or 2 tbsp tomato paste + 1/2 cup water)
Cook, stirring frequently, until thickened (about 5–7 minutes).
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
