Non-Toxic DIY Fabric Dryer Sheets

Here's a simple Non-Toxic DIY Fabric Dryer Sheets recipe that’s easy to make and will leave your clothes soft and fresh without harmful chemicals.
Prep Time5 minutes
Course: Household
Keyword: dryer sheets
Yield: 8 sheets

Materials

Instructions

  • In a small bowl or jar, mix the white vinegar and water.
  • Add the essential oils and stir well to combine.
  • Cut the fabric into squares, or use old washcloths or t-shirts (about 6–8 pieces).
  • Place the fabric squares into an airtight container.
  • Pour the vinegar mixture over the fabric squares and let them soak for at least 1 hour. You can leave them overnight if you prefer.
  • Once soaked, wring out any excess liquid from the fabric squares.
  • To Use:
  • Toss 1–2 of the fabric sheets into the dryer with your laundry load.
  • After use, store the fabric sheets back in the container and reuse them for several loads (typically 5–10 times) before re-soaking.

Notes

To refresh the scent or boost fabric softening, add a few more drops of essential oil as needed.
If you prefer a more natural "scent-free" dryer sheet, just skip the essential oils.
