Mason Jar Christmas Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup festive holiday M&M's or red and green candy-coated chocolate pieces
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a quart mason jar add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Layer the granulated sugar, then the brown sugar, pressing down gently to pack.
- Add the festive M&M's and white chocolate chips on top for a colorful finish.
- Seal the jar tightly and attach a label or gift tag with the baking instructions.
- Baking Instructions for the Recipient:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, empty the jar's contents.
- Add 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter, 1 large egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes.
