Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, add the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, instant dry milk, Instant ClearJel, and salt. Whisk thoroughly for at least 1–2 minutes to break up lumps and evenly distribute ingredients.
  • If you want a perfectly smooth mix, sift the cocoa and powdered sugar before whisking.
  • Fill the Jar: Using a wide-mouth funnel or carefully spooning, transfer the mix into the quart jar. Lightly tap the jar on the counter between additions to settle the contents — do not pack the ingredients down hard, as this can make the mix clump later.
  • Preparation Directions (Gift Tag Wording)
  • To make a batch which is 4 servings:
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of pudding mix with 2 cups cold milk for 1–2 minutes until smooth and starting to thicken.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes to fully set.
  • Chill before serving for the best flavor and texture.
  • For a richer pudding, replace ½ cup of the milk with heavy cream.
