½
cup
fine sea salt
½
teaspoon
cornstarch
keeps things from clumping
12
drops
green gel food coloring
gel works best—bold without watering things down
1/4
teaspoon
citric acid
or lime powder for that Grinchy zing
2
teaspoon
dill powder
Optional for the more dill flavor
Instructions
In a small bowl, stir together the salt and cornstarch.
Add food coloring one drop at a time. Mix with a fork until every grain looks Grinch-level green.
Spread the salt on a parchment-lined plate or baking sheet. Let dry 20–30 minutes.
Break up any clumps and funnel it into a cute little jar.
Notes
Up to 1 year in a sealed jar—those tiny green crystals aren’t going anywhere.
