Dairy-Free Sweetened Condensed Milk Mix

Dairy-Free Sweetened Condensed Milk Mix

This dairy-free dry sweetened condensed milk mix makes about 4¼ cups of dry mix, which equals roughly 4 cans (14 oz each) of condensed milk when reconstituted. Each prepared “can” yields about 10–12 servings, depending on how your recipe uses it.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings 4 cans

Ingredients

  • 2 cups coconut milk powder for richness; oat milk powder if you want neutral flavor
  • 2 cups powdered sugar sifted, no lumps. Or Sugar-Free: Use a powdered monkfruit-erythritol blend (but note it won’t thicken quite as much as real sugar).
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot powder to keep smooth when reconstituted
  • 1/2 tsp fine salt

Instructions

  • For about 1 can (14 oz) equivalent:
  • Measure 1 cup mix into a small saucepan.
  • Add 1/3 cup hot water.
  • Whisk and heat gently over medium-low for 5–7 minutes, until glossy and thickened.
  • Use immediately, or chill — it will thicken further as it cools.
  • 📝 Storage
  • Dry mix: 6–8 months in a sealed jar in a cool pantry.
  • Prepared dairy-free condensed milk: 5–7 days refrigerated in a sealed jar.
  • 🌟 Options
  • Ultra Rich: Stir in 1–2 tbsp coconut oil or vegan butter while heating.
  • Sugar-Free: Use a powdered monkfruit-erythritol blend (but note it won’t thicken quite as much as real sugar).
  • Flavor Twist: Add vanilla, almond, or maple extract while heating for special recipes.
