Ingredients

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a large bowl.
  • Whisk thoroughly until evenly combined.
  • Funnel into a quart-size mason jar.
  • Seal tightly and shake well.
  • Store in a cool, dry pantry for up to 6 months.

Yield

  • Approximately 3½–4 cups, depending on how finely powdered your ingredients are. Perfect for a quart mason jar.

Sprinkle Version

  • Use on:
  • Waffle fries
  • Chicken nuggets
  • Chicken sandwiches
  • Roasted potatoes
  • Popcorn
  • Air fryer chicken

How to Use

  • Sprinkle lightly over hot food.
  • Start with ½–1 teaspoon per serving.
  • Adjust to taste.
  • Flavor Profile: Sweet, smoky, tangy, and savory with a hint of honey mustard barbecue flavor.

Sauce Version

  • Whisk together:
  • 2 Tbsp dry mix
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp barbecue sauce
  • 1–2 tsp water, as needed
  • Let sit 5 minutes to hydrate, then stir again.
  • Makes
  • About ⅓ cup dipping sauce.
  • Pantry Mix Tip

For a larger family sized batch, mix:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup dry mix
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp barbecue sauce
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. Great for dipping nuggets, fries, and chicken sandwiches. This version captures more of that signature sweet-smoky-tangy flavor people expect from Chick-fil-A sauce while still working as a shelf-stable pantry mix.

Notes

Low Sugar: Reduce powdered sugar to 2 Tbsp still works for both sprinkle and sauce
No Sugar: Omit entirely will be more tang-forward, less fast-food sweet
Low Sodium: Reduce salt to ¾–1 tsp
Lighter Sauce: Swap mayo for Greek yogurt or sour cream
