Cake Pan Release

Cake Pan Release is the foolproof, no-stick magic every baker needs for perfect cake releases every time. Just brush it on your pan and watch your cakes slide out like a dream.

Ingredients
 
 

OPTIONAL: Shortening free version

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup neutral oil (vegetable oil, canola oil, grapeseed oil)

OPTIONAL: Coconut Oil version no shortening.

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Store in an airtight container (I use a Mason jar). When ready to use, brush onto pan with a pastry brush.

Notes

Best Storage Tips
Refrigerate for longest life: up to 6 months
Room temperature is fine for short-term use: about 3 months
Keep it in an airtight jar
Use a clean spoon or brush each time to avoid contamination
 
Notes:
  • Coconut oil gives a slightly firmer texture when chilled.
  • Works beautifully for cakes, quick breads, brownies, and Bundt pans.
  • No coconut flavor once baked.
