Instructions

Preheat and Prep

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until evenly combined.

Cream and Combine

  • In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the applesauce until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Gently fold in the chopped apples. Do not overmix.

Bake

  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve

  • Let the loaf cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then carefully turn it out onto a wire rack to finish cooling. Serve warm or completely cooled — it’s lovely either way.
